PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unpleasant feeling from being given to circumferential people in the case of an incoming call in a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: A portable unit is provided with a portable telephone body 10 and a remote control part 20. The remote control part 20 has a switch 21b and is connected to the telephone body 10 via wire harnesses 22a and 22b. The remote control part 20 remotely stops the generation of an incoming call sound from the telephone body 10 in accordance with an operation to the switch 21b. Then an operation to the remote control part 20 is rapidly performed by keeping the remote control part 20 out of a bag even in a state such that the telephone body 10 is stored in the bag.
