PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image communication equipment capable of requesting a substituting processing to other equipment by utilizing a communication function and easily adding a new function while minimizing the constitution change of the present equipment. SOLUTION: A portable radio telephone set 2 is connected to an electronic camera 1. The electronic camera 1 is provided with the function of connecting the Internet through the portable radio telephone set 2 and transmitting and receiving electronic mail with an opposite party on the Internet in addition to the basic function of electronically picking up and recording an object image and displaying the photographed image on a monitor screen. Also, the electronic camera 1 is provided with the mechanism of requesting the substituting processing to a specified mail server 3 by the electronic mail. The mail server 3 which receives the request performs a required substituting processing corresponding to the request contents of a service described in the electronic mail.
