PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and automatically adjust a focus in spite of a near point and a far point on a position of an automatic focusing object in a surveying apparatus. SOLUTION: This automatic focusing device is provided with a photoelectric conversion part 15, an image forming optical system for forming an image of a measuring object on the photoelectric conversion part and a focusing range deciding means, a range of a light receiving signal from the photoelectric conversion part is decided according to the size or a distance of the image of the measuring object, and a focus is automatically adjusted by the light receiving signal of the decided range. |
