PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a reduced number of components and provided with an easy-to-assemble illuminator and an information terminal utilizing the device. SOLUTION: Light emitting diodes LEDs are mounted on a data driving circuit board PCB1 and/or on a scanning driving circuit board PCB2. The light from the light emitting diodes LED is introduced into a light guide plate GLB so as to illuminate the liquid crystal panel PNL. Also the power to drive the light emitting diodes LEDs is supplied from the corresponding circuit board.
