The invention relates to a method which makes it possible to modify anionic or amphoteric microcapsules by adding compounds with a cationic charge in a controlled manner, without causing agglomeration, flocculation or precipitation and without altering the quality of the microcapsules. To this end, cationic compounds are introduced in a controlled manner. The resulting microcapsules have an excellent affinity for textile fibers, skin, paper and hair, and can be used for fixing cosmetic compounds, perfumes, pharmaceutical products and encapsulated phytosanitary products.
