摘要 PURPOSE: A method for predicting temperature of slab in a walking beam type heating furnace which not only improves prediction accuracy, but also can be used in continuous controlling of the actual process is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a method for predicting temperature distribution of slab in a walking beam type heating furnace by on-line method, the method for predicting temperature of slab(1) in the walking beam type heating furnace comprises the steps of dividing slab into non-skid part(6), skid part(7) and edge part(8) that is a region from both ends of the slab to a point in which temperature variation is within 3 deg.C/cm on the longitudinal temperature distribution; obtaining temperature variation in a thickness direction of the non-skid part(6) and the skid part(7); setting a plurality of points in length and thickness directions inside the edge part, and obtaining temperature distribution in a thickness direction and temperature distribution in a length direction for the points; and obtaining thickness directional temperature of the edge part (front part)(8) of the slab(1) corresponding to a length directional hot rolled strip portion exceeding tolerance of thickness variation of a final hot rolled strip to minimum by interpolation method from the obtained thickness and length directional temperature distributions for the points inside the edge part.
