PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably switch a flow of an electric signal based on a light having a relatively long wavelength. SOLUTION: The photoconductor switch 10 for switching the electric signal based on irradiation of a light having a predetermined wavelength comprises an InP substrate 12, an optical absorption layer 14 having an InGaAs layer 14b and an InAlAs layer 14b formed on the substrate 12 in such a manner that at least one has a different lattice constant from that of the substrate 12 to increase conductivity when irradiated with a light having a long wavelength band, and electrodes 18, 16 formed by opening a predetermined gap 20 on the layer 14 in such a manner that when the layer 14 is irradiated with the light having the long wavelength band, an electric signal flows from the electrode 18 to the electrode 16 through the layer 14.
