<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a process in a printing device to generate print data by performing a prescribed processing by using a font ROM or the like, based on status information data for generating print data in the printing device. SOLUTION: An instruction to start the printing of status information is executable by a user by the switch of a printing device. Then two-way communication between the printing and a host computer is operated according to the instruction to start printing, and the status information obtained by the printing device is temporarily transmitted to the host computer, and a print file based on the status information is generated by the host computer, and the printing job of the print file is executed. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide any processor or font ROM for generating the print data by the printing device, and to allow the printing device to easily print the status information at low cost.</p> |
