PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which improves convenience by inheriting the state of an operation performed in the previous mode before switching so that an operation need not be performed again, even though mode switching is performed. SOLUTION: When a mode-switching means 11 switches a reproduction mode to an image-forming mode, an image displaying means 8 is provided with a control means 59 that controls, so as to perform display corresponding to the display state of the reproduction mode which existed before the modes are switched.
