PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope device capable of being smoothly switched from a visible light optical system to an ultraviolet ray optical system. SOLUTION: As to this microscope device which has plural objective lenses 3 for visible light and for ultraviolet ray having the different magnifications, and in which the lenses 3 can be selectively switched on an optical axis, the difference between a focusing position obtained by the lens 3 for visible light and a focusing position obtained by the lens 3 for ultraviolet ray is stored in a storing means 23a as a confocal focusing compensating value, then the focusing position obtained by the lenses 3 for the ultraviolet ray is compensated by the confocal focusing compensating value in the means 23a when the lense 3 for visible light is switched to the lense 3 for ultraviolet ray.
