PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a pen type input deice provided with a camera by deriving its device configuration, and to provide a user interface using the device. SOLUTION: This pen type input device is constructed so as to suit the instruction of either a horizontally long object or a vertically long object and is provided with a means for simultaneously designating an object and processing contents. The pen type input device is also provided with a means which detects that a user instructs the object in a wrong method and is for teaching a correct object instructing method in accordance with it.
