<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a manufacturing process of an active matrix type liquid crystal display panel and improve the productivity. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process of a TFT substrate is ended at the step when an protective insulating film 25 has been formed on the uppermost layer; thereafter this TFT substrate 30 is made to face a color filter substrate 32 through a sealing material 33; the uppermost protective insulating film 25 of the TFT substrate 30 is etched by using the color filter 32 as a mask; and press-contact terminals 15, 23 formed at the end parts of scanning lines and signal lines are exposed. Thereafter, a liquid crystal is filled between both substrates. In such a manner, it is possible to eliminate the processes of photo- resist deposition, pattern exposure, and development which have been necessary for patterning the protective insulating film in the conventional art.</p> |
