PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically controlled expansion valve enabling accurate electrical control of the flow rate of a refrigerant. SOLUTION: The electrically controlled expansion valve is an expansion valve which expands adiabatically a high-pressure refrigerant and sends it into an evaporator in a refrigerating cycle, and it controls the flow rate of the refrigerant electrically. A constant flow rate mechanism 10, 40 for maintaining the flow rate of the refrigerant to be constant is incorporated therein and the flow rate of the refrigerant maintained to be constant by the mechanism 10, 40 is controlled electrically to be variable.
