PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently read out display data of respective rows. SOLUTION: The leading address of a row is read out from a display address storage register 14 to be set in a RAM address specifying register 18. Then, the address of a RAM 10 which is set in the register 18 is incremented for every pause of characters. Thus, character data of each row are successively read out from the RAM 10. Moreover, a read-out leading address from the register 14 is successively changed for every change of a row by a selector 16.
