PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve the plural effects with simple constitution puck as the reinforcement of a flexible substrate to be connected to a substrate of a display device and the shielding of the infiltration of light to an IC chip directly packaged to this substrate. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device 1 has the substrate 2a of the display device, the IC chip 16 packaged onto the substrate 2a and the flexible substrate 23 connected to the substrate 2a. A sheet member 26 is affixed from the surface of the substrate 2a on the side opposite to the surface packaged with the IC chip 16 to the flexible substrate 23 and further, this sheet member 26 is arranged to a position where the light made incident through the substrate 2a on the IC chip 16 is shielded. The two effects; the reinforcement of the flexible substrate 23 and the prevention of the infiltration of the light to the IC chip 16 may be simultaneously achieved.
