The intra-oral mandible separator has two anchors (17) for the mandibles at two points (B,D) on either side of the bone. A threaded spacer rod moves the anchor points apart. The spacer has a four-part linkage (1,2) to form a parallelogram (A-C) with articulated apices. The threaded rod (7) fitting in a nut (11) on one apex and rotating in a guide on the opposing apex.
