PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system where all remote controllers being components of the system can receive character information with high sensitivity without incurring increase in the manufacture cost. SOLUTION: At least one (e.g. 2 sets such as 2a, 2b) of remote controllers 2a-2x that are connected in a way that they can communicate with each other is provided with a wireless reception section 8 that can receive an FM character multiplex broadcasting service or the like. Then the remote controller having the wireless reception section 8 supplies character information received by the wireless reception section 8 to other remote controllers 2c, 2x that does not have the wireless reception section 8 and each display section 6 of the remote commanders 2c, 2x displays the character information. In this case, either of the remote commanders 2a, 2b, which has a better reception state is adopted for the supply source of the character information to the remote controllers 2c, 2x.
