PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting diode especially where a red system or the like that is the long-wavelength component of visible rays can emit light efficiently regarding a light-emitting device utilizing a nitride semiconductor. SOLUTION: In the light-emitting diode, a nitride gallium-family compound semiconductor light-emitting layer where visible rays can emit light is formed on a substrate. Especially, in the light-emitting diode of α-alumina substrate, Cr that absorbs visible rays being emitted from the nitride gallium-family compound semiconductor light-emitting layer and discharges visible rays with a long wavelength. |
