PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp a client equipment connection state and a contents state even when these states are dynamically changed. SOLUTION: This system has a contents data base holding the recording places and attributes of contents and data, retrieval request detecting means for detecting a retrieval request to the contents data base and outputting retrieval request information, network monitoring means for monitoring a change in the condition of an equipment connection to a network and outputting the new equipment connection condition as connection condition information when the connection condition is changed, contents monitoring means for outputting contents change information when the recording places and attributes of contents and data are changed, data base retrieving means for receiving the retrieval request information, retrieving the contents data base and outputting retrieved result information, data base managing means for receiving the connection condition information and the contents change information and registering the information into the contents data base or changing it, and retrieved result output means for outputting the retrieved result information received from the data base retrieving means to a retrieval request source.
