BOOT SERVER SELECTION SYSTEM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to select from which boot server connected on one network or combined networks a bootstrap program is received by a network computer regarding a boot server selection system to select the boot server on the network to receive the bootstrap program to be required at the start up by the network computer. SOLUTION: This system is constituted so that each of one or more boot servers 10 to perform a boot processing in response to a boot request from the network computer 20 on the network is provided with a boot request receiving means 11 to receive the boot request from the network computer 20, an elapse of time detecting means 12 to detect the elapse of preset time after receiving the boot request and a boot response transmitting means 13 to transmit boot response when the elapse of time is detected by the elapse of time detecting means 12.
