PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that in processes of a quantization and an encod ing, it is necessary to execute comparison judgements of scale factors by fre quency equivalent to the number of repetitive controls in order to perform grouping for every quantization of a short block and a calculating and processing time of these judgements is required in a MPEG2(moving picture expert group 2)-AAC audio encoding system. SOLUTION: When short blocks are selected, grouping is previously judged from the maximum number of quantizing steps and the statical amount of scale factor bands in insides of respective short blocks, in a stage prior to performing quantization. |
