PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the conventional problem of hermetic sealing being difficulty due to insufficient sticking of solder 5, when the inner diameter of an insertion hole 4 for an optical fiber inserting tube 2 provided in a package 1 is 1 mm or larger causing a large gap between the outer diameter of an optical fiber 3 and the inner diameter of the hole 4. SOLUTION: In an optical element module, in which the optical fiber 3 insertion tube 2 is provided in the package 1 with an optical element 15 stored, in which the optical element 15 and the optical fiber 3 are coupled optically, and in which the insertion tube 2 and the optical fiber 3 are sealed hermetically, a ring-shaped member 13, having the optical fiber insertion hole 4 in the center and having the same material or the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of the insertion tube 2, is inserted into a hermetic sealing part 11, which is provided at the end of the insertion tube 2 and which has an inner diameter larger than other parts, and then the optical fiber 3 and the insertion tube 2 are hermetically sealed via this ring-shaped member 13.
