PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the density of a porous object simply and with good accuracy when the density of the porous object such as a ferrite molded body or the like having a complicated shape is measured. SOLUTION: The weight W1 of the porous object 10 to be measured is measured in the air [Fig. (a)], the object 10 to be measured is held in a liquid 17, and its weight W2 is measured two or more times [Fig. (b)]. On the basis of their weight data, the initial estimated weight W3 in the liquid 17 of the object 10 to be measured is found by a polynominal fitting method. The initial estimated weight W3 in the liquid 17 of the object 10 to be measured is subtracted from the weight W1 in the air of the object 10 to be measured, and the initial buoyancy B (= W1-W3) in the liquid 17 of the object 10 be measured is calculated. The buoyancy B is divided by the specific gravity D1 of the object 10 to be measured, and the volume V (=B/D1) of the object 10 to be measured is calculated. The weight W1 in the air of the object 10 to be measured is divided by the volume V, and the density D2 (=W1/V) of the object 10 to be measured is calculated.
