PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical storage battery including a roll-type electrode body that has an improved shape of lead terminal for electrically connecting the collector welded to the end of the electrode body and sealing plate, and that supplies a current with excellent output characteristics and endures excessive vibration. SOLUTION: A cylindrical storage battery comprises positive and negative electrode plats rolled with a separator arranged between them so as to project the edge of one of them, and a collector of rectangular or nearly circular plate welded to the edge, which are mounted in a metal case. A lead terminal for electrically connecting the collector and the sealing plate sealing the metal case have a hole inserted in a projection formed in the lower part of the sealing plate. The projection is welded to the edge of the periphery of the hole.
