PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve for a refrigerating cycle which has an excellent pressure resistance, without necessitating a sealed pressure-sensitive element of ultra- high pressure specifications such as a bellows or a diaphragm, and enables attainment of the control valve characteristics corresponding only to the state on the primary side. SOLUTION: A valve port 13 formed between an inlet port 11 and an outlet port 15, a ball valve element 17 receiving the pressure of the inlet port 11 in the direction of opening of the valve and opening and closing the valve port 13, a temperature- sensitive valve closing spring 22 which is constituted of a temperature-sensitive material having positive characteristics for temperature and which is sensitive to a refrigerant temperature at the inlet port 11 and biases the ball valve element 17 in the direction of closure of the valve with a spring load increasing in accordance with a rise in the refrigerant temperature, and a temperature-sensitive compensation spring 25 which is constituted of the temperature-sensitive material having the positive characteristics for the temperature and which is sensitive to the refrigerant temperature at the outlet port 15 and biases the ball valve element 17 in the direction of opening of the valve with the spring load increasing in accordance with the rise in the refrigerant temperature, are provided.
