PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively open prescribed one part of the upper surface of an image forming part in stable state without expanding a device or increasing costs. SOLUTION: In ordinary using state, at the upper part of an image forming part 2 located in lateral main scanning direction, an image reading part 1 is located in lateral sub-scanning direction. The moving direction of an ink carriage in the image forming part 2 is made parallel with the moving direction of a scanner unit in the image reading part 1. All the upper surface of the image forming part 2 is covered with the image reading part 1 and an area occupied by an image forming device 100 is minimized. At the time of maintenance, the image reading part 1 is rotated at 90 deg. in respect to the image forming part 2. Prescribed one part of the upper surface of the image forming part 2 is exposed upward. An opening part 4 is formed in such a prescribed part and on the upper surface of the image forming part 2, maintenance is performed from the opening part 4 exposed upward into the image forming part 2.
