PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To house more optical fibers. SOLUTION: Plural optical fibers 10 are housed loosely in a loose tube 12. A thixotropic gel or jelly-like material 14 is further inserted into the loose tube 12. Steel segments 18, trisected in a circumferential direction, are arranged on the outer side of the loose tube 12 so as to completely enclose the loose tube 12. Many steel wires 20 are arranged on the outer side of the steel segments 18, and the outer side thereof is covered with a copper plate 22 in common use as a powder supply line and further the outer side thereof is covered with an outer covering material 24 of polyethylene.
