PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of receiving a file from the receiver side. SOLUTION: This facsimile machine is composed of an operation part 1, display part 2, FAX control part 3, read part 4, recording part 5, signal generation part 6, memory 7 and line control part 8. Then a caller ID to be imparted at the time of an incoming call can be recognized. In the facsimile machine, an arbitrary designated destination is informed of that a transmission file is held, when an operator generates a transmission file. As an example of the operation, the destination is set, the start key is depressed, reading processing is executed, the management information on a transmission waiting file is generated and the existence of the file is reported to the designated destination. A polling reception function for receiving the file reports the existence of the file to the receiver side and receives the file from the receiver side, thereby managing the file by a destination number.
