PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot-type optical cable which is optimum in connection to a two-core connector, such as an MTRJ connector, and is optimum for a cable for LAN. SOLUTION: This slot-type optical cable 10 has a structure obtained by housing coated optical fiber ribbons into grooves formed on the outer peripheral surface of a slot rod 1, in which the coated optical fiber ribbons are two-core coated fiber ribbons 2 formed by integrating two optical fibers with ribbon materials. Since the slot-type optical cable 10 has a structure obtained by housing the two-core coated fiber ribbons 2 within the grooves of the slot rod 1, the optical cable does not require parts, such as jumper cords for conversion, does not require the fusion splicing to the parts and is superior in workability for branching, connecting, etc., when the optical cable is used and branched as a cable for LAN or the terminals of the optical fibers are connected to the MTRJ connector, etc., in the final.
