PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem, where a color, which an operator tried to put, is not put to a part where a contour-correcting signal is added, because the added contour correcting signal is decided to leave in the case of respectively restricting the amplitudes of primary color signals of green, blue and red, in order to put the color to the white part of high luminance. SOLUTION: Amplitude-restricting circuits 5G, 5B and 5R restrict video signals of respective green, blue and red to be equal to or smaller than maximum amplitude values set respectively, adding circuits 6G, 6B and 6R add the contour correcting signals to video signals outputted from the circuits 5G, 5B and 5R respectively, and amplitude restriction circuits 7G, 7B and 7R restrict the video signals outputted by the circuits 6G, 6B and 6R to be equal to or smaller than maximum amplitude values set respectively.
