PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type color display device capable of realizing uniform color display without shadow caused by the influence of the crossing part of dichroic films orthogonally arranged. SOLUTION: Light made incident on a synthesizing element 1 is divided by luminous flux division means 21, 22 and 23 so as not to pass through the crossing part 18 of the dichroic films 14R and 14B, and light emitted from the element 1 is synthesized to single luminous flux by a luminous flux synthesizing means 24 and made the incident light 25 made incident on a projection lens system 15, whereby a light component passing through the crossing part 18 is not included in the light 25 made incident on the lens system 15, and the uniform projection color display without the shadow is realized. |
