PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a breakdown of a floppy disk device caused by an ESD (electrostatic discharge) applied from the external part. SOLUTION: Relating to the floppy disk device wherein a front panel 12 in which the port 12a of the floppy disk 2 is opened is provided in the front opening part of a base plate 1 consisting of conductive material and a freely opening/closing shutter 14 is provided in the port 12a, conductivity is imparted to at least one side of the front panel 12 and the shutter 14. Since the ESD is made to flow from the front panel 12 and the shutter 14 to the base plate 1 and is discharged to the outside, the breakdown of the floppy disk caused by the ESD is prevented.
