PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming method by which digital color image information nearly free from color turbidity is easily obtained in a short. time from a color film after photographing and to provide a stable image forming method in which finish quality lowers hardly even in a slack period. SOLUTION: In each of the image forming methods, a color photosensitive material is developed and image information is photoelectrically read from the resulting image and converted to electrical digital image information, (1) a developing solution used in the development comprises a developing agent- containing solution of <=pH 7 and an alkali agent-containing solution and (2) the photosensitive material is developed by supplying the developing agent- containing solution and the alkali agent-containing solution to the photosensitive material and then heating the photosensitive material.
