PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating plant which uses a carbon dioxide refrigerant and is constituted to prevent the efficiency drop of a compressor by suppressing the viscosity drop of lubricating oil in the compressor. SOLUTION: For the refrigerating plant, a refrigerating cycle for circulating the carbon dioxide refrigerant is constituted by connecting a compressor 1, a condenser 2, a pressure reducing means 5, and an evaporator 6 to each other. The compressor 1 stores polyalkylene glycol oil as lubricating oil in the bottom section of a closed container and the evaporator 6 has a refrigerant flowing-in section and a refrigerant discharging section which are positioned so that the refrigerant may flow from the upper part to the lower part in the evaporator 6.
