PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the winding treatment of a stator quickly and easily, with simple constitution. SOLUTION: This winder is equipped with a plurality of holding mechanisms 30 which hold stator cores 14 and on which the feet 22 of the stator cores 14 can be arranged vertically upward, an index table 32 on which the holding mechanisms 30 are mounted shiftably, a winding mechanism 34 which applies winding treatment to the stator cores 14 and a commutator member 18, a driving mechanism 36 which rotates the stator cores 14 after termination of winding from vertical posture to horizontal posture and also engages the fellow stator cores 14 with one another, and a shifting mechanism 40 which holds the commutator member 18 and shifts that commutator member 18 downward, interlocking with the driving mechanism 36.
