PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent image without the scattering of toner a the trace of a discharge brush after transferring a toner image to transfer paper in an image forming device by an electrophotographic processing. SOLUTION: After transferring the toner image on a photoreceptor drum 31 to the transfer paper 15 by a transfer device 35, the discharge brush 39 is brought into contact with the back surface of the paper 15 so as to remove charges with which the paper 15 is electrified. By grounding the brush 39 through a resistor 391, the movement of the charges in the case of removing the charges on the paper 15 is restricted, so that the movement of the toner with the movement of the charges is restrained to be very small, and the trace of the brush caused by the movement of the toner is hardly formed.
