PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device capable of surely performing transfer even in the case of the machine of a high image formation speed. SOLUTION: Since pre-transfer and post-transfer rollers 4 and 5 are arranged so as to bring a tangent closest to the rotation center of an image carrier among the four common tangents of both rollers to the rotation center side of the image carrier more than the outer periphery of the image carrier, the tight adhesion width of the image carrier and transfer paper becomes wide. Thus, transfer time becomes long and sufficient transfer time is obtained even in the case of a high-speed machine.
