PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a simulated, high-precision measure of the position of the frame of a color cathode-ray tube mounted to a panel by sliding a gauge support only perpendicularly to a frame side direction, adjusting 0 point of the gauge using a reference frame, and checking highly precisely if the frame is attached in a proper position against a cathode-ray tube panel. SOLUTION: After attaching a reference frame, gauge supports 20 are slid to be positioned at reference positions. All gauges 18 are closely touched to the reference frame to adjust 0 points. The gauge supports 20 are retracted from the reference positions. The reference frame is removed, and a holding means 16 hold a frame 14 that is a measuring target. The gauge supports 20 are repositioned to the reference positions. Therefore, the gauges 18 measure the position of the frame 14.
