摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepped structure FRP-made propeller shaft capable of sufficiently ensuring necessary strength throughout the whole of the shaft by effectively reinforcing a part expected to be reduced in strength when forming in a stepped structure, and smoothly conducting filament winding at a manufacturing step. SOLUTION: In a propeller shaft provided with an FRP-made main cylinder having a helical winding layer of reinforced fiber, the main cylinder has a larger diameter portion, a small diameter portion, and a taper portion connecting the both diameter portions. The reinforced fiber of the helical winding layer continues from the large diameter portion to the small diameter portion through the taper portion. A winding angle to a shaft axial direction of the reinforced fiber in the helical winding layer becomes larger in the small diameter portion than the large diameter portion, the thickness of the main cylinder is thicker in the small diameter portion than the large diameter portion.
