PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a convergence device that can correct convergence corresponding to fluctuation in an anode voltage without the need for a high voltage stabilizing device in a rear projection type projector where three projection tubes are placed with an offset. SOLUTION: In the projector where an R tube and a B tube are placed at both sides of a G tube as a center tube at a prescribed angular distance and images projected from the projection tubes are composited on a screen, a convergence control means of the convergence device corrects an offset of the convergence of the images projected onto the screen, produces a correction signal that relatively corrects the position of the image projected from the R, B tubes around the projected image from the G tube depending on the fluctuation of the anode voltage applied to each projection tube, adds this correction signal to convergence adjustment signals for the R, B tubes, and supplies the sum to a convergence yoke so as to attain the convergence correction on the screen without the need for a high voltage stabilizing device.
