PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably support an object to be inspected without fixing with a clamp device and to easily change the position or the direction. SOLUTION: This supporting device is composed of a frame 1 and a plurality of wires 3, and has a face element 4 having two faces (X, Y faces) freely variable to support an object to be inspected P, and a wire driving unit 2 for driving a plurality of wires 3 within the two faces of the face element 4. A control calculator conducts such calculation that which wire 3 of the face element 4 is made to operate to support the object to be inspected P and outputs the instruction of a calculated result. In response to the instruction, a servomotor 6 of the wire driving units 2a, 2b operates the wire 3 on the X, Y faces of the face element 4 and supports the object to be inspected P.
