The weighing system has a reference surface and a weighing surface on which the object to be weighed (4) is placed. A measuring chamber (3) filled with a fluid separates reference and weighing surfaces. A pressure transducer (5) delivers a signal related to the pressure in the chamber relative to a reference pressure. A computing device (7) uses the signal to calculate mass of the object.
