PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the charged state of a battery without removing the cap attached to the terminal for preventing short-circuit. SOLUTION: A sealed lead storage battery has one or both of the positive and negative electrode terminals 2 and 2' coated with a cap 3 for preventing short-circuit, which is cut through so as to form a hole 31 for inserting the terminal of a voltmeter.
