PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the relative remaining capacity of respective battery modules by preventing over-charging and over-discharging of the respective battery modules. SOLUTION: This method performs discharging while calculating the relative remaining capacity of a plurality of battery modules connected in series. This method, when any one of particular battery modules charged or discharged reaches a correction point, also corrects the calculated relative remaining capacity of the particular battery module to the standard capacity of the correction point. In addition, this method corrects the calculated relative remaining capacities of the other battery modules with the same correction value as for the particular battery module.
