<p>An ABS brake system for a car has a brake pressure generator with at least one brake circuit including two wheel brakes (3,4). There are valves (56,7) in the, or each, circuit(2) and a pump (8) for the return flow of brake fluid from the wheel brakes. The second wheel brake is connected directly with the pump inlet. The first of the valves is between the brake pressure generator and both brakes and when inactive, opens the path between the generator and one brake but blocks the connection to the second brake so that the pump returns fluid only from the latter. When active, the valve opens the path between the brakes but disconnects the pressure generator so that the pump can return fluid from both brakes.</p> |
