The invention concerns a steam water injector typically with high pressure and improved starting phase. It uses an axial drain (10) arranged in the centre of the neck (5), downstream of the mixing chamber (4) and inserted in the diffuser (7), so as to restrict the neck (5) cross-section and draw a large part of the steam which has not been condensed. The axial drain (10) can be mounted axially mobile. The invention is useful for supplying water to steam generators of nuclear reactors operating with pressurised water.
