A chair provided with elbowrests having elbowpieces rotatable between the lateral position and front position of a sitter, wherein the elbowrest is provided with an elbow support attached to the side of the chair main body, and the elbowpiece supported by the elbow support, part of the elbowrest being provided with a control means for controlling at least the elbowpiece to allow the latter to move in a substantially constant path around the sitter between a first use position located laterally of the sitter sitting in the chair main body and a second use position located forwardly of the sitter.
