<p>The invention relates to a method in replacement of a process roll in a paper machine or equivalent. In accordance with the invention, the replacement roll to be fitted in place is heated substantially to its process temperature or at least substantially close to the process temperature before the roll is fitted in place. The replacement roll is heated advantageously by means of the same method by which it is heated and by which the temperature of the roll is maintained during the process. The heating can be accomplished as internal heating of the roll, in which connection the heating can be accomplished by circulating a heat transfer medium inside the roll. Alternatively, the roll can be heated by external heating.</p> |
