Block-form heating- and/or power station designs have placed the connection for the common auxiliary- and secondary-plants (balance of plant (BOP)) onto one block (B1) but this can cause problems of placing an increased concentration of responsibility onto one block (e.g. B1), and as the common BOP has only one supply, the rest of the plant can remain idle when the medium voltage rail (MVS1) must be used. A common supply board (GVS) is now used for electrical supply of the common BOP.
