The use of a type V cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase inhibitor for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. 1, 7-dihydro-2-(propoxyphenyl)-GH-purin-6-one is the prefered compound. All compounds are condensed dihydropyrimidines substituted by a 2-alkopyphenyl radical.
